Hiking the Alpe Adria Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Trek from Kranjska Gora to Vrsic Pass
Welcome to Slovenia! Your guide will pick you up from your accommodation in Ljubljana or Bled and accompany you to the trailhead in Kranjska Gora. Starting on a relatively flat and wide trail, you’ll walk through the Krnica Valley, opening up to views of immense limestone peaks. Climb a steep hill and arrive at a historic Russian chapel, built in the honour of Russian prisoners who escaped here during World War I. Today’s trail will astound you with breathtaking views as you hike near the border of Italy, Austria, and Slovenia. Settle into a cozy mountain hut for a night spent among nature.

Day 2 Hike from Vrsic Pass to Trenta Valley
Rise early in the mountain hut to the morning light illuminating the surrounding peaks. Enjoy a hearty breakfast with your group, then set out for the Trenta Valley. You’ll explore the eastern Julian Alps, witnessing untouched Slovenian countryside and mountainous terrain. After a significant descent, arrive at the mountain hut accommodation for the night. If you have a bit of extra energy, venture to the crystal clear water of the Soca River and find the hidden waterfalls. Spend another night under the stars, far away from civilization.

Day 3 Walk the Soca Valley to Bovec and Farewell
Fuel up on breakfast and prepare for an exhilarating day. Spend the day hiking alongside the turquoise Soca River. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to jump in for a refreshing dip, welcome on a hot day. Hike your way down the Soca Valley before lunch. Hit various terrain as you trek to Bovec, Slovenia’s adventure hot spot. Your tour ends here with a transfer to Bled or Ljubljana. Or, you can stick around and partake in the world-class outdoor adventures offered in Bovec. Bid farewell to your crew and head to the next leg of your journey or safely back home.

This tour is based in traditional mountain huts. The huts are basic but do provide everything you will need for the night, such as snacks and blankets as well as one-time-use bedsheets. It is recommended that you bring a cotton sleeping bag liner if you are sensitive to any materials. The huts are divided into rooms of 2–4 beds, and there is no option for a single supplement.
