Road Bike Portuguese Coast to Sintra tour Itinerary
Day 1 Welcome to Lisbon!
A local representative will be ready to pick you up at the Lisbon airport and drive you to São Pedro de Moel, which should take around one hour and forty-five minutes. After that, you will have a welcome briefing and bike fitting.

Day 2 Bike to medieval Óbidos
Your first day of riding in Portugal will be a ride that passes through some pine forests and beautiful beaches. Take your time and get on an epic cliff to admire Nazaré, a typical Portuguese fishing village, where the fish is still dried under the sun. Climb another cliff to admire Peniche and Ericeira, typical Portuguese fishing villages. The tour then continues along the coast with stunning views of the Atlantic ocean. After, you will arrive at Óbidos, one of the most beautiful and well-preserved medieval villages in Portugal, with a unique castle sitting at its top.

Day 3 Bike to stunning Peniche
This day will begin close to the lagoon of Óbidos, which eventually connects to the ocean, creating a wonderful place with a gorgeous beach. As you continue heading south, you will discover great rock formations, the Carvoeiro cape, and the incredible town of Peniche, which rests on a peninsula. On this day, do not forget to enjoy the numerous restaurants in Peniche as they serve and an outstanding variety of fresh fish and seafood.

Day 4 Ride through rustic Portugal
Today you will start by the sea before heading inland, where an entirely different scenery presents itself. Authentic and rustic Portuguese villages with white houses and red roofs surrounded by the beautiful countryside that will invigorate you. As you pass through incredible valleys of limestone and vibrant, green Mediterranean vegetation, you will approach your final destination – Ericeira, the Portuguese Mecca of the surf. Ericeira is also one of the most beautiful fishing villages in Portugal and will be your home for the night.

Day 5 Bike to the UNESCO village of Sintra
The Sintra Natural Park and its hills will be the set for today’s adventures, which will involve a route that is a constant up-and-down. However, before, delight yourself with some of the beautiful places Sintra has to offer, such as Monserrate Palace. Here, you can stop and visit a unique and exquisite example of Romanticism. Once you arrive at the village of Sintra (UNESCO World Heritage Site), you will have a whole free day to explore and discover its mystique. Visit the astonishing Pena Palace, a fairytale palace with a sequence of fantasy-like domes, towers, ramparts, and walkways on one of the highest mountain peaks of Sintra.

Day 6 Ride along the coast to Cascais
Discover the impressive beaches nested between the cliffs that have been artistically sculpted by the water and wind.
On the last day of biking, you will cross the hills all the way to the top, close to the mystical Convento dos Capuchos, which is installed in the rock and lined with cork. As you continue, your ride will take you to the Atlantic ocean, where you will arrive at the westernmost point of continental Europe – Cape Roca, a promontory rising 150 meters above ocean. Ride along the coast and finally arrive at Cascais, a lovely seaside town.
