9-day Rocky Mountain Ski Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Welcome to Calgary
You will be picked up from Marriott Downtown Hotel in Calgary (gathering spot). Your expert local guide will give you a warm welcome to Alberta, introducing you to the rest of your small and friendly group before taking you on a scenic drive to Banff. Banff is a rustic mountain town, nestled right in the heart of the Rocky Mountains and famous for its lovely hot springs, buzzing nightlife and fascinating history that dates to the times of the settling Pioneers. There will be plenty to see and do tonight as you immerse yourself in the social scene of the town and check out one of the many fantastic eateries for the first of many hearty meals.

Day 2 Skiing at Lake Louise
Wake up bright and early to make the most of your first day on the slopes. Lake Louise is one of the largest and most beautiful ski resorts in North America, famous for its spectacular location in the heart of Banff National Park. It boasts over 4000 acres of skiable terrain, spread over 4 breathtaking mountain faces and connected by an excellent system of lifts and gondolas. Your guide will help you find the perfect runs for your experience level, before taking you out in Banff for a delicious fondue dinner as a group.

Day 3 Skiing at Sunshine Village
Switch things up as you spent the day skiing at Sunshine Village, a resort with a wide range of terrain spread over three different mountains, from gentle green runs to nail-biting double black drops. Whether you have spent the day carving gentle curves on the fresh powder or hurtling beneath the fir trees, you will be grateful to chase the cold away as you ride on Canada’s only heated ski lift. Later, you will visit the local hot springs, soaking in the natural thermal waters and letting the aches and pains of a day on the slopes slip away.

Day 4 Skiing at Lake Louise
Enjoy a second day on the slopes of Lake Louise, as you spend the day navigating acres of open bowls and picturesque pistes that wind beneath the fir trees. After tiring yourself out on the slopes, you will load up in the van and be driven to your next destination, crossing from Alberta into British Columbia. You will stay at the lovely mountain town of Golden tonight, famous for its laid-back vibes and world-class skiing at Kicking Horse Mountain. Hit the town with your group to meet some locals over a beer or set out by yourself to discover the hidden bars and eateries independently.

Day 5 Skiing at Kicking Horse Mountain
Delve straight into the world-class ski terrain of Kicking Horse Mountain, home to hair raising vertical drops, wide-open bowls and some seriously gnarly chutes. This is a truly special skiing location, which some unbelievably long downhill runs, heli-skiing and ridiculously deep ‘champagne powder’. Explore some of the 120 trails which cover 3,500 acres of skiable terrain before heading into town to soak up the friendly energy and buzzing nightlife that Golden has to offer.

Day 6 Another day at Kicking Horse
You have another chance to explore the slopes at Kicking Horse today. Your guide will help you find all the best runs for your ability levels, making sure you waste no time trying to plan your routes and maximise the time you spend carving up the slopes. Although the mountain offers some of the best skiing on the continent, it doesn’t have any of the typical overcrowding that ski resorts can suffer from. You can forget about queuing for ski lifts and enjoy plenty of space to take your freestyle to the next level. After an epic day at Kicking Horse you will be transferred to Fernie for your next leg of the ski safari.

Day 7 Skiing at Fernie
Fernie is a quiet mountain town famous for epic snows. Located deep in the Elk Valley region of British Columbia, home to abundant wildlife, friendly locals, and spectacular skiing at Fernie Alpine Resort. Do not worry, the bears will be happily hibernating when you come for your ski safari, but keep your eyes peeled for moose as you drive on the quiet mountain roads to Fernie. You can ski all the way from the summit to the base of the mountain, testing your thighs to the limit as you soar down the mountain in a single, epic run. You can expect deep powder, open bowls and delightful tranquility at this quiet ski resort that has somehow managed to stay off the beaten track.

Day 8 Another day at Fernie
Enjoy one final day of skiing on the peaceful slopes of Fernie. You will send enormous clouds of powder into the air as you explore the endless backcountry trails with your expert guide or you can choose to take it easy on the gentle slopes nearer the base of the mountain. The snow gets so deep here that they have a height restriction on many of the lifts, to make sure small children don’t get lost in the enormous snowdrifts. After a perfect day on the mountain, you will head into town for one final knee up with your small and friendly group, letting your hair down over ice-cold beers, great food and even better company.

Day 9 Transfer back to Calgary
All good things must come to an end and sadly the time has come to say goodbye to the epic ski scene of British Columbia. You will be dropped off in Calgary by 2pm, either at the airport or your hotel depending on your plans.
