Day 2 Driving and Walking Tour of Seoul
This morning you’ll become pleasantly acquainted with the vibrant streets of Seoul as you embark on a driving tour of its significant sites, including Seoul Plaza, City Hall, Cheonggye Square, and the pedestrian-friendly Gwanghwamum Plaza.
Known as the heartbeat of South Korea, Seoul will welcome you with open arms as you further explore its highlights with visits to the National Folk Museum of South Korea and the bustling Gwangjang Market.

Day 3 Cycle the 4 Rivers Bike Trail
Today, challenge and reward meet on the 4 Rivers Bike Trail! A transfer will take you to Ungilsan Station where your cycling adventure begins.
Embarking on a section of the colossal 633km cross-country cycling trail, you’ll ride from Ungilsan Station to Chungju Jungangtap Park, flanked by gorgeous green forest as you trace rushing rivers.
From Chungju Jungangtap Park, you’ll make your way to tonight’s accommodations in Suanbo. Suanbo, located 30km southeast of Chungju, is known for its spectacular hot springs.

Day 4 Explore Andong
This morning you’ll drive to Andong, where a full day of fascinating cultural exploration awaits!
First up is an intriguing visit to the 15thcentury Hahomaeul Village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site seemingly frozen in time. It’s home to hundreds of traditional Korean houses. Bask in the rustic charm of this village as you find yourself swept back in time.
Later in Andong, you’ll visit the breathtaking stone Jebiwon Buddha and the Andong Folk Museum before calling it a (great) day!

Day 5 Explore a Buddhist Temple
Today begins with a visit to a Confucian shrine academy, Dosan Seowon, where you’ll explore the fascinating complex of 16 buildings on foot before heading to Taebaek.
The Taebaek Coal Museum showcases South Korea’s coal mining past and you’ll have a chance to learn about the once-booming coal mining operation here.
This evening, you’ll be welcomed at Woljeongsa, an active Buddhist temple with roots dating back to the 7th century. This extraordinary overnight temple experience will invite you to learn about Korean Buddhist teachings while reflecting on your own busy life.
This evening, you’ll partake in a temple tour, a traditional vegetarian dinner, ceremonies, a prayer bead making workshop, and a guided meditation. Whether you’re a spiritual person or just someone who enjoys new experiences, Woljeongsa Temple won’t disappoint!

Day 6 Visit Seoraksan National Park
This morning, you’ll rise restored and refreshed to the sound of the traditional moktak summoning you to gather at the Main Buddha Hall for a pre-dawn ceremony.
The morning unfolds with a guided meditation, breakfast, morning walk, and a special tea time in the company of the resident monks. Following lunch, you’ll depart the temple.
Back on the road, you’ll drive through the Misan Valley, whizzing by small villages and farms as you travel to Yangyang. A leisurely afternoon awaits you on the sandy shores of the sun-kissed Naksan Beach, where you’ll enjoy some epic sand, sun, and sea.

Day 7 Hike in Seoraksan National Park
Depending on how much of a challenge you’re game for today, you can choose from several spectacular hikes in Seoraksan National Park, each varying in length and difficulty.
A few of the park highlights include Seoraksan Peak (1,708m / 5,603ft), Geumgang Cave, Gyejoam Hermitage, Biryong Waterfall, and the cable car to the Gwongeumseong.

Day 8 Drive to Seoul Via Goseong
Today you’ll set out on a drive to the most northern tip of the east coast of South Korea, enjoying stunning rural scenery as you drive to the Unification Observatory in Goseong. This visit will provide you with further context to understand the complex division between North and South Korea and will also demonstrate the South’s hope for eventual unification.
You’ll have a chance to observe the demilitarized zone that straddles the two countries, and you’ll even be able to spot soldiers standing guard on the north side of the border.
A visit to the DMZ Museum tops of the day, where you’ll learn more about the conflict between North Korea and South Korea and also about the DMZ (demilitarized zone).
