Camping in the Amazon Rainforest Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive in Iquitos and Boat to Tahuayo Lodge
You can arrange to have your transfer meet you at Iquitos Airport or your hotel in Iquitos to begin your tour. From here you’ll take a speedboat up the river to the lodge.
You’ll arrive at Tahuayo Lodge in time for dinner and an evening excursion.
Overnight Location: Wilderness lodge in Paraiso
Meals: Lunch, dinner
Day 2 Choice of Activities
You’ll be spending today and tomorrow at the lodge, where you’ll be getting to know your guides and getting adjusted to life in the rainforest.
You’ll want to take advantage of all the activities you can do from the lodge, including a hike through the varzea forest and the canopy ropes course!

Day 3 Choice of Activities
The same as yesterday, you’re free to spend today enjoying the nearby activities and getting settled in the Amazon.

Day 4 Wilderness Camping
Today on your Amazon camping adventure, you’ll pack your things and join your two guides on a boat towards the terra firme forest where you’ll be camping.
You’ll hike into the wilderness and your guides will show you the best way to choose a campsite. As you set up camp for the night, you’ll also learn about starting a fire in the rainforest and how to find sources of pure water.

Day 5 Jungle Exploration
You’ll be spending the next few days exploring the jungle and learning skills that are important for surviving the wild jungle.
First, your guides will teach you about the fruits, plants, and insects that you can eat in the forest. Then, you’ll get a lesson on how to build traps and snares for fishing. They’ll also show you how to build a raft and tools for hunting and fishing from the jungle resources.

Day 6 Jungle Exploration
Today, the jungle lessons continue as your guides show you the tricks to surviving in this buzzing environment.

Day 7 Hiking and Boating
This morning on your camping in the Amazon Rainforest adventure, you’ll learn about natural survival medicines, your last jungle lesson.
After breaking down your campsite, you’ll hike out of the woods and return to the lodge by boat.

Day 8 Choice of Excursion and Departure
You’ll be able to choose the final excursion this morning. Perhaps an early morning boat ride to spot caiman or fish for piranha?
Afterwards, you’ll take the boat back to Iquitos in the afternoon and your transfer will take you to the airport for your flight. Safe travels!
