Andros Hiking Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive in Athens
You’ll arrive at the airport in Athens and a taxi driver will meet you to take you to the port. Take a 2-hour ferry ride across the Aegean Sea to reach Andros Island, and then you’ll hop on a local bus to get to Ormos Korthiou.
At your hotel, a welcome package will be waiting for you with gloves and a small pruner to help out with trail maintenance during your trip if you wish.

Day 2 Walk to the Monastery Tromarchion
After breakfast, head for the cliffs on the west coast. Walk along quiet, well-trodden paths, hiking through rural hamlets and saying hello to the locals. The views will open up and your efforts will be rewarded with sweeping panoramic vistas.
Take a breather at the impressive monastery before returning to Ormos Korthiou.

Day 3 Trek to Andros Chora
Wake up and get ready to leave Ormos Korthiou behind. You’ll set off along a stony inland path filled with hidden villages and old watermills. You’ll cross through agricultural lands and hike along a mountain ridge to reach a wide valley. Andros Chora will come into view before you make the descent and locate your guesthouse for the night.

Day 4 Andros Chora Circuit
Rise and shine next to Nimborio Beach and choose your route today as you enjoy breakfast. Both routes lead to enchanting villages through old cypress growth and along stony paths. Check the guidebook provided for all the details on today’s options.

Long: 6.5 hours, 17.5km, 600m of ascent, 600m of descent

Day 5 Travel to Western Andros
After breakfast, hop in a taxi or local bus to Messaria on the west coast. Explore this quaint village before heading off on a stunning journey through mountains and valleys. Ano Pitrofos sits atop a hill, from where you’ll reach unparalleled views of the Aegean Sea hitting the rocky shores.
Round out the day with a nice descent to Batsi, an inviting seaside resort with a sandy beach.

Distance: Short: 5.5 hours, 16km, 600m of ascent, 400m of descent
Long: 6.5 hours, 18.5km, 560m of ascent, 600m of descent

Day 6 Explore Batsi
Enjoy a lovely breakfast at the hotel, then take a taxi to Remata to start today’s walk. The beginning of the path has some fairytale scenery, with a lush riverbed leading to other remote villages. A terraced valley comes into view as you walk above Batsi.
Return to Batsi down the valley and treat yourself to a drink on a shaded terrace.

Distance: 4 hours, 11–12km, 400m of ascent, 600m of descent

Day 7 Walk to Agios Petro
From Batsi, you’ll take a lovely stroll along the coastline to reach Agios Petros, where you’ll spend the last two nights of the tour. On the way, stop by the Monastery of Zoodochou Pigis, a fortress-like structure perched on a hill.
Continue along the beach to eventually reach Agios Petros to settle into your guesthouse. Find a local tavern and refuel with some delicious Greek food.

Distance: 4 hours, 11.5km, 450m of ascent, 450m of descent

Day 8 Gavrio Circuit
For your final day, you’ll explore Agios Petros, Gavrio, and the surrounding area. Climb a lovely but steep path to reach amazing views above these seaside villages. Walk through the valley, past the Hellenistic Tower, and return to your guesthouse.
