Sarawak Rainforest Bike Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Heritage Trail Cycling & Sunset Dinner
Welcome to Sarawak! You’ll make yourself comfortable in the lovely old town of Kuching before setting off to start your first cycling adventure. You’ll meet with your group and tour leader, get comfy on your bike, and then depart down on the Heritage Trail of the White Rajah, passing colonial buildings and the waterfront jetty on the way. After the ride, you’ll be treated to a sunset dinner on the banks of the Sarawak River.

Day 2 Cycle to Annah Rais Longhouse
Today, you’ll spend the morning watching orangutans in the trees before hopping on the bike. Now that’s a way to start the day! Then, it’s off along the wonderful Penrissen Range, where you’ll cycle next to quaint farms and villages. You’ll spend some time in a peaceful Bidayuh Longhouse and then dive into a delicious authentic Bidayuh dinner in a welcoming homestay.

Day 3 Kayak and Ride to Siniawan
For the next leg of your Borneo cycling tour, you’ll actually trade your bike for a kayak! You’ll spend the morning floating down a pristine tributary, passing by hidden waterfalls. Then, hop out of the water to start your cycle through fascinating limestone rock landscapes, stopping to explore a bat cave along the way. Your journey ends in a century-old historical town called Siniawan, where you can relax for the night.

Day 4 Ride to Orangutan Sanctuary
Begin the day with a ride along the rolling foothills of the Matang mountains, which are lush and gorgeous. You’ll head off the path for a bit of off-road jungle riding, crossing rivers and passing by waterfalls. Paradise! You’ll arrive at the Matang Wildlife Centre, where you can spend time with the local orangutans. This is where you’ll spend the night, so you can enjoy the sounds of the jungle coming alive in the dark.

Day 5 Ride to Gunung Gading National Park
Get the legs ready for a more challenging ride along the coast today, crossing all the way to the western tip of Borneo. You’ll take a break by Gunung Gading National Park, where (if you’re lucky!) you might spot a blooming Rafflesia, the biggest flower in the world. Spend the afternoon relaxing at the resort’s pool and enjoying the fabulous weather.

Day 6 Cycle Beside Coconut-Lined Beaches
After breakfast, spend the day riding along a coconut palm-lined beach to the gorgeous coastal town of Sematan. You’ll ride alongside empty beaches and paddy fields along the way, so feel free to stop and admire the views wherever you like. Tonight, is spent at a seaside resort, so enjoy the ocean and the pool as much as you like!

Day 7 Transfer to Kuching
The last day of your cycling tour of Borneo gives your legs a rest. You just can’t come here and enjoy the pristine beach, so that’s exactly what you’ll do today! You’ll then be transferred to Kuching, where a hefty seafood dinner awaits to send you off.
If you’re visiting in the dry season, there is the opportunity to extend the trip by 2 days at this point to visit the tip of Borneo by boat.
