Carinthian Lakes Bike Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival in Villach
After arriving in Villach, you will be able to explore the area and utilize the restorative powers of the thermal springs, before settling in for the evening ahead of the next day’s cycling adventure.

Day 2 Cycle to Klagenfurt
Today will begin by cycling alongside the River Drava, one of the tributaries of the Danube, until you reach Velden. Continuing into the Keutschach Valley, you will have the opportunity to take a dip in a number of lakes that include Lake Hafnersee, Lake Keutschacher See, Lake Baßgeigensee and Lake Rauschelsee. After, you will cycle along the Lend Canal to Klagenfurt, the capital of the Carinthia region.

Day 3 Take in the Natural Beauty of the Klopeiner See
On day 3 you can take some time to explore Klagenfurt before cycling to the historic Ebenthal and Grafenstein castles. After, you will continue cycling to the Völkermarkter Stausee (reservoir) and then onto the warmest lake in Carinthia, Lake Klopeiner See.

Day 4 Cycle to Sankt Veit
Today you will cross the River Drava for the last time, cycling through a slightly undulating landscape towards Maria Saal. You will also pass the Duke’s chair and Hochosterwitz castle on your way to your accommodation for the night in St. Veit.

Day 5 Return to Villach
The last day of cycling on your tour will see you explore the historic city of St. Veit, with its city walls, medieval square, gorgeous houses, the castle of the duke, and plenty of monuments. After, you will cycle along the river Glan to Glanegg (castle ruin) and Feldkirchen, where you will be surrounded by romantic castles, ruins, and hills. You then cycle along the Glan bicycle path back to Villach.
