Cities and Food of Colombia Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Bogotá
Upon arrival at Bogotá airport, guests will be greeted by a knowledgeable guide who will facilitate their transfer to the hotel. The group will meet in the early evening (time dependent) to play Tejo, a Colombia game that is a lively mix of camaraderie, music, traditional food, and cold beer! Settle into the hotel for the night.

Day 2 Bogotá
On your second day in Bogotá, your exploration will begin in the charming Usaquén district at the Sunday flea market. Here, you will stroll through narrow streets where street artists present their works, and can find handcrafted design items and delicious local street food. Afterwards, you will make your way to the historic center of Bogotá, La Candelaria, where you will learn about the political significance of Plaza de Bolívar and visit the impressive Gold Museum.
The day ends with a visit to the Botero Museum, which exhibits works by the renowned Colombian artist Fernando Botero. Along the way, you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the Bogotá skyline and the surrounding landscape from the popular Torre Colpatria viewpoint. Overnight the same as the previous night.

Day 3 Visit to Zipaquirá
Today, an unforgettable adventure awaits at the impressive Zipaquirá Salt Mine. In the underground
cathedral, you will explore this architectural masterpiece that was once used by the indigenous people of the area, the Muiscas. Together, you will stroll through labyrinthine corridors, admire sculptures and reliefs on the walls, and become enchanted by the special atmosphere of this place, all 80 meters underground!

Day 4 Flight to Pitalito and Coffee Tour in San Agustìn
On the fourth day of your adventure, you will head to the airport and fly to Pitalito. Upon arrival, you are
welcomed and brought to San Agustín, where you will embark on a coffee tour.
Coffee plays a central role in the economy of San Agustín and the surrounding regions, known for producing some of Colombia’s best specialty coffees. You will learn about the entire coffee production process, from planting to harvesting, accompanied by our guide, a family member of Luis Alejandro, the proud owner of the Finca “La Cabaña.”
After, you will walk through the ecologically recognized farm and can taste coffee cherries from various coffee varieties while delving into the history of coffee. At the end of the tour, you are invited to taste and enjoy some exquisite specialty coffees. Overnight at a hotel in San Agustìn.

Day 5 Full-day Tour San Agustìn
Today you will experience village life with a guided tour through San Agustín. The tour begins at the
local farmers’ market, where you can taste exotic fruits and soak up the lively atmosphere. Then, you will head to the central square and stroll through the handicraft street, followed by the impressive Archaeological Park of San Agustín. Here, you will discover impressive statues and burial sites, learning more about their significance, history, and relevance to the former indigenous tribes of this region.
You will also explore the famous “Lavapatas” fountain, an engineering marvel where you will learn more about the indigenous water ceremonies and their importance in the daily life of these ancient cultures. Overnight the same as the previous night.

Day 7 Drive through Puracé National Park
After breakfast, you will drive from San Agustín through the Puracé National Park to Popayán. In Popayán, known for its fascinating gastronomic tradition, you will embark on an exciting food tour through the historic city center. This city, recognized by UNESCO as a “Creative City of Gastronomy,” offers a rich culinary culture celebrated by the annual gastronomic congress with over 30,000 visitors. Explore the historic streets, learn about the culinary culture of the “Payaneses,” and discover their festivals and UNESCO recognition. Day 8 Cultural Experiences on the Way to Cali
Today, your journey takes you from Popayán to Cali with a stop in the charming village of Silvia, home to the Guambiano-Misak community. Here, you will be immersed in the life of the descendants of the original inhabitants who proudly preserve their traditions. Your local host will act as a guide through the village to the Sierra Morena settlement, where you will visit the “Casa Payán,” an interpretation center of the Misak community and their medicinal plant garden. Here, you will learn more about the community-produced herbal medicines at the pharmacy. In the evening, dance enthusiasts will have the opportunity to participate in an optional salsa dance class in Cali or explore the city on their own. Overnight at a hotel in Cali.

Day 9 Fly to the Caribbean Coast
Day 9 of the tour will see you fly from Cali to Santa Marta, where you will be greeted at the airport and taken to the hotel. Depending on the arrival time, you will have the opportunity to explore the city before continuing with the program in the early evening when you will walk with our guide to the port.
Together with other visitors, you will embark on a sailing boat tour along the coast. Here, you will sail into the famous sunset of Santa Marta, glide past El Morro, and head towards the enchanting bay of Taganga. Day 10 Tayrona National Park
Today you will hike in Tayrona National Park, a natural gem on Colombia’s Caribbean coast. Your hike will begin through the lush jungle landscape, passing dreamlike beaches until you finally reach the natural swimming pool and Cabo San Juan.
