Corsica’s Mountains and Sea Walking Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival in Corte
Arrive in Corte and get settled in your hotel. This historic town was Corsica’s capital during its brief period of independence in the 18th Century. If needed, assistance traveling to Corte and airport transfers are available.

Day 2 Dayhike to Tavignano Gorge
Start your walking tour from the Citadel of Corte and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Tavignano Gorge. Walk beside the gorge to the bridge that crosses the Tavignano River, where you will have the opportunity to take a swim in the refreshing and clear waters of the natural pools. When you have finished enjoying this lovely area, walk back to Corte along the same route.

Day 3 Walk through Restonica Gorge to Capitello Lake
After breakfast, take a taxi to Grotelle, a shepherd’s hut where today’s walk begins. Climb up to the top of a small plateau where you’ll find another shepherd’s hut. During the summer, they make and sell cheese here. Continue climbing to reach Melo Lake, then continue on to Lake Capitello. Enjoy this area at your leisure then return to Grotelle. At the shepherd’s hut, Théo will invite you to sample traditional Corsican meats.

Day 4 Travel by train from Corte to Calvi
Leave Corte today and take the train to Calvi. You can choose to take the morning train or to continue exploring Corte and take a later train to Calvi. From the train, watch the spectacular landscapes of Corsica go by. Calvi is a charming port town that is especially lively during the summer season. The port area offers many restaurants and bars. You also spend your time exploring the old citadel, enjoying the beach, or relaxing by the pool at your hotel.

Day 5 Walk the Corsican Coast to La Revellata Lighthouse
Begin today’s walk at the citadel. Find the monument to Christopher Colombus, who is believed to have been born here in Calvi. Your path leads to the south, following the coast out onto a peninsula. Here you’ll find a number of small, secluded beach areas and the Revellata lighthouse. Explore this beautiful area, then return to Calvi by following a trail on the top of the peninsula.

Day 6 Walk to Notre Dame de la Serra
Leave the coast today and follow a path through the dense evergreen shrubs of a maquis shrubland to the central region of Corsica. Here you’ll find a chapel called Norte Dame de la Serra. There is a stunning view from here, overlooking the Citadel, the Revellata, and the Gulf of Calvi. You can choose to return to Calvi directly from here or to extend your walk further into the mountains. Extending the walk doubles the walk time from 2 hours to 4 hours.

Fly to Bastia Airport (BIA) or take a ferry to Bastia. Trains are available between Bastia and Corte. Airport transfers can be arranged for an additional fee.
The tour ends in Calvi. You can fly home from the Calvi Sainte-Catherine Airport (CLY) or arrange transportation back to the Bastia Airport. Transfers are available for an additional fee. Buses and trains are also available.
