Croatian Coast Hiking Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Welcome Meeting in Zagreb
Make your way to your centrally located hotel in Zagreb. This afternoon you’ll have a welcome meeting with your tour guide and your fellow travellers. You’ll get to know everybody as you take a pleasant walking tour of the city to find a nice restaurant for dinner.

Day 2 Visit the Plitvice Lakes
Your meeting time this morning is 5:00 am, but don’t worry! You’ll have two hours to nap on the ride to Plitvice Lakes National Park. The early departure means you’ll arrive when the park opens and will hopefully beat some of the crowds!
Take in the stunning natural beauty of the park as you follow the boardwalks along the lakes and sparkling waterfalls. You’ll stop for a lovely homemade lunch and a little break at the guesthouse. Spend the afternoon hiking some of the quieter trails in the park.

Distance: 5-6 hours, 16 km, 450m of ascent and 450m of descent

Day 3 Hike in Velebit and Sail to the Island of Krk
In the morning you’ll travel for an hour and a half to the beautiful Velebit Mountains. Start your hike on the grassy ridge that follows the coast and offers stunning panoramic views of the Adriatic islands below.
After the hike, it’s time to meet the private speedboat that will transport you to the island of Krk. Enjoy the afternoon on the water, soaking up the sun, swimming, and exploring secluded coves along the way. You’ll find your luggage waiting for you at your accommodations on Krk Island.

Distance: 4-5 hours, 12 km, 500m of ascent and 500m of descent

Day 4 Explore Krk Island
Your hiking trail for the day starts right outside the front door of your hotel. You’ll be hiking to the rugged south side of Krk. On your trail, you’ll be treated to spectacular views of the islands rising from the crystal blue waters against the backdrop of the Velebit Mountains.

Tonight you can stay in Baska or visit the nearby town of Vrbnik for dinner.

Distance: 4-5 hours, 13 km, 350m of ascent and 350m of descent

Day 5 Visit Cres Island for a Hike to the Beach
If you’re up early today, you can take a hike to the Baska viewpoint before breakfast. The impressive view of Prvic Island and the Velebit Mountains will be worth the early wakeup call!
Later, take the ferry to Cres Island for lunch. After lunch, you will drive to the village of Lubenica, from where you’ll take a hike through the shady pine forest to a beautiful beach. Here you’ll spend some time exploring the tranquil white pebbled beaches along the coast.
Then, a fishing boat will take you to the van that will drive you back up the hill. You’ll be driving for about an hour to reach Veli Losinj, where you’ll be staying for the night on Losinj Island.

Distance: 3 hours, 8 km, 160m of ascent and 500m of descent

Day 6 Hike the Coast and Villages on Losinj
Today you’ll be taking easy walks along the coastline of Losinj Island. You’ll follow the trails along the rocky east coast and cool off with a quick swim in the quiet bays along the way.
In the afternoon you can relax at the beach and explore the nearby town of Mali. Or, you can join in on a stroll along the west coast of the island. Finish your day with a drink while you watch the sunset over the town of Mali Losinj and Osorscica Ridge.

Distance: 4 hours, 12 km, 100m of ascent and 200m of descent
Meals: Breakfast, lunch
Day 7 Hike the Osorscica Ridge
It will be an early, quick drive to the trailhead this morning. You’ll be hiking through the forest up the steady incline of Osorscica Ridge. From the top, you’ll have magnificent views of the coastline and nearby islands.
After your hike, you’ll have lunch in Osor before starting the drive back to Zagreb. It’s about a three hour drive, so it’s a great time to rest up so you’ll have energy for your last night out on the town in Zagreb.

Day 8 Finish your tour in Zagreb
