XC Ski the Dolomites Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive in Dobbiaco
Arrive in Dobbiaco any time and check into your hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.
Overnight Location: Hotel in Alta Pusteria (Dobbiaco)

Day 2 Enjoy the Trails to Sesto
Strap on your skis and head out to the beautifully groomed trails from Alta Pusteria to Sesto. The scenery will range from sparkling snowy meadows to quiet forests as you explore the trails. If you are looking for a longer outing you can continue across the border to Sillian in Austria.

Day 3 Ski the Fischlein Valley
Your excursion today will be into the gorgeous Fischlein Valley. You’ll be skiing through some of the most majestic areas of the Dolomites as you approach the “Sundial” peaks of Sesto.
End your day with a warm drink and local treats in the Talschlusshut at the end of your day.

Day 4 Discover the Braies Valley
Today you’ll ski beside the Sesto River and back through the forest back to San Candido. You’ll pass through Dobbiaco and the Nordic Arena cross-country ski center on your way to Villabassa. Next you’ll ski into the tranquil Braies Valley where you’ll meet the shuttle that will bring you to Prato Piazza.
You can choose to take the Lago di Braies route if you’re looking for a more challenging option.

Day 5 Explore the Prato Piazza Plateau
Spend today exploring the alpine plateau of Prato Piazza. Enjoy skiing the circular track in the shadow of Croda Rossa and Picco Vallandro. You choose to take an optional snowshoe hike to Monte Specie for a change of pace in the afternoon. The hike offers incredible views on a clear day.

Day 6 Skiing from Val Casies
A transfer will collect you from your hotel and bring you to Monguelfo/Val Casies. You’ll be skiing across the sparkling snow of the valley floor as you pass charming farmhouses and a few good spots for you to enjoy a warm drink. If you’re ready to go back you can take public transit or ski back on to Monguelfo and continue to Villabassa or Dobbiaco.

Day 7 Drei Zinnen and Cortina d’Ampezzo Ski Trip
Begin your adventure for the day from the Nordic Arena and follow the path of an old railway line that will lead you to the Landro Valley. Lake Dobbiaco is a scenic place to stop and enjoy a warm beverage and a strudel. You’ll ski to the viewpoint where you’ll see the majestic Drei Zinnen. The route to Cortina d’Ampezzo is broken up by some tunnels and bridges.
When you arrive you can choose to loop back or return to Dobbiaco by public transport.
