Day 1 Arrive in La Valle
Arrive in La Valle (Wengen in German) and spend the rest of the day exploring this quaint, near-flawless mountain village. In 2015, La Valle earned the “European Hiking Village” badge, so now it’s officially recognized across Europe as a hub for treks. Enjoy a relaxing evening, basking in a lovely combination of serenity and comfort at your hotel.

Day 2 Hike around Crusc de Rit
Tie up your laces and get ready for your first day exploring the depths of Italy’s towering mountainous backdrop. Today you will hike a loop that takes you from La Valle, passing over Sas De Crosta—a lofty mountain, and back to La Valle. Reach the magnificent Crusc de Rit viewpoint, where Val Badia sprawls below, and Austrian peaks paint the background in the distance. If you want to ease your body into hiking, you can always take the shorter route.

Day 3 Hike to the top of Spizan
Travel 2 km by foot—or opt to take a bus—to the village of Pederoa, where your 13 km trek begins. Expect a gradual incline as you meander to the top of Spizan. Let the views of La Valle, Longiarù—another Italian village—and jagged Monte Putia enchant you as you hike this challenging, but rewarding loop. Spend another evening relaxing in your cozy hotel in La Valle.

Day 4 Hike Passo Valparola to Sett Sass
Today’s day trip from La Valle will take you, via an included transfer to Passo Valparola, a dramatic mountain pass that has a longstanding hut-turned-museum. Begin your journey along the stunning Sett Sass. Admire the valleys and meadows peppering Val Badia sprawling below, while Marmolada glacier fills the backdrop. Relax your legs at your hotel in La Valle.

Day 5 Hike to Rifugio Fanes
Be sure to munch on a hearty breakfast before twisting by the Sasso delle Nove’s rock faces and Austrian peaks en route to Rifugio Fanes. Get ready for a steep ascent close to the end of the trek, but you’ll be met with views of Fanes-Sennes-Braies Natural Park. After reaching Rifugio Fanes and checking into your cozy mountain-backed hotel, it’s suggested to walk 1 km to Lé Vërt lake and Limo lake.

Day 6 Hike back to La Valle
Expect a trek exploding with steep parts and gorgeous views as you make your way back to La Valle. One of the first stops on this hike is Lech Parom, a tiny blue-green lake nestled high in the mountains. You can skip the tough climb to this spot and follow a more moderate path to La Crusc, where more breathtaking views await. Meander across wide grassy meadows before reaching La Valle.

Day 7 Hike to Rifugio Genova and Back
Enjoy breakfast before taking a local bus from La Valle to the start of your hike in Longiarù. Expect an array of mountainous views and vast prairies to accompany you as you trek to Rifugio Genova, a cozy refuge for adventure enthusiasts cradled by rocky, jagged, and grassy mountain and hillside slopes. On your way down, hike through the charming Seres valley. If your legs aren’t up for a super long journey, you can cut this expedition by 3 km.

Self-guided travelling is not difficult! For many, it is a preferred type of travel as you are in charge of your own time and pace. You are provided all the information on which direction you need to go daily. You don’t need to carry lots of things with you and can only carry your daypack, as your luggage will be picked up from your hotel daily in the morning and delivered to your destination hotel.
