Here you’ll begin your ascent along the Camino Real, your first encounter with the highly anticipated network of trails, leading you to Montaña Bibique, where you’ll be met by sweeping views of the Agaete Valley.
Continuing the trail, you’ll reach achieve even greater heights as you arrive at another vista point at Mirador Vuelta de la Paloma overlooking several surrounding valleys.
Finally, you’ll descend from Puerto de las Nieves along a gravel path. When the trail comes to an end, you can either take a taxi back to Agaete or return by public bus.

Day 3 Walking through the Pinos de Gáldar to Tejeda
A relatively easy walk that begins on a quiet tarmac lane with stunning views for the first 2 km before transitioning onto historic footpaths leading into the lush Pinos de Gáldar forest. The ascent is long and steep in sections, particularly on vertical paths with lava grit.
The route then descends more gradually, following a stony footpath that winds through slopes, orchards, and kitchen gardens, eventually reaching Tejeda, the island’s highest village, beautifully set on terraced slopes with views of Roque Nublo and Bentayga.
A break can be taken at Cruz de Tejeda, the only stop along the way, where two restaurants and a chic parador provide refreshments. To shorten the walk, you can arrange for the taxi to drop you 2 km further uphill at the start.

Day 4 Trek Roque Nublo
Today your walk begins directly from your accommodations, setting out on rugged terrain around the Roque Nublo. This craggy out-cropping perched on the edge of a plateau doesn’t claim the award for the highest peak on the island, but it’s certainly the most famous! Roque Nublo is easily spottable from practically anywhere on the island, making it a notable fixture of the landscape.
Trekking steep, zig-zagging paths, you’ll ascend towards Roque Nublo, noticing the signs of the peak’s volcanic origins as you climb. Peering down at the ravines etched into the body of the slopes by erosion long ago, you’ll get a feel for the history of this majestic peak.
Your descent of Roque Nublo follows a different route through a tranquil fir forest, leading you to the col where you can catch a public bus back to Tejeda.
For those wanting to continue on foot, a historical road leads back to Tejeda, adding an additional two hours onto your journey.

The day begins with a transfer to Degollada del Sargento, where the hike starts. The walk ends in Artenara, where you can relax with a drink or lunch on a terrace while waiting for the taxi. If you prefer a shorter route, you can arrange for the driver to pick you up at the starting point for an additional fee.

Ascending up to Roque Nublo, which you’ll be familiar with from Day 4, you’ll follow the ridge for the next hour, taking in mesmerizing views of Pico de las Nieves (1951m, 6400 ft), Gran Canaria’s highest peak.
Descending via rural footpaths, you’ll continue to walk along tarmac to reach your accommodations in Le Lechuza, where a refreshing swimming pool dip awaits you!
