Day 1 Explore Villach
Enjoy a free day to explore Villach after you’ve checked into your hotel.

Day 2 Explore Shütt Nature Reserve
You start the trip in the lively city center of Villach but a short bus ride takes you to the middle of nature in Rosstratte. You then walk to the Dobratsch, Villach’s landmark mountain beloved and treasured as a local recreational area by the city’s inhabitants. Enjoy the magnificent panorama! The Dobratsch Nature Park – covering 7250 hectares and lying in the middle of Carinthia‘s idyllic lake landscape – is made of forests, mountain pastures, rivers and the high mountains create a habitat for a vast number of plants and animals. Return to Villach.

Day 3 Gailtal Valley Hike
You’ll start your hike after a brief transfer to Feistritzer Untere Alm. You’ll walk the scenic path across the border into Italy where you’ll find the beautiful Gailtal Valley. Explore the magnificent alpine landscape until you begin the descent into Camporosso.

Day 4 Visit the Monte Lussari Sanctuary
Your trail today leads you on a circuit from Camporosso. You’ll begin walking to Monte Lussari, a sanctuary that has been a pilgrimage destination visited for centuries. Your hike will bring you to fantastic viewpoints where you’ll be treated to stunning views of the Julian Alps.

Distance: 4-5 hours, 960m of ascent, 960m of descent

Day 5 Hike into Slovenia
A shuttle will transfer you to the start of your walk at the base of Mangart. Your hike will take you through the woods to the glacial White Lakes. You’ll walk through meadows, plateaus, and forests on your way to the Slovenian border.
Your destination today is the ski area Kranjska Gora, where you’ll spend the night.

Distance: 5 hours, 300m of ascent, 230m of descent

Day 6 Rest Day or Roundtrip Hike
Feel free to take a rest day today and spend it exploring this incredible ski resort. There are endless small hikes and places for you to explore, or you can take a circular hike around the area.

Day 7 Hike to Monte Forno and Return to Austria
From Kranjska Gora, a short transfer will take you to the stage starting point. You hike past the Techantinger & the Mallestiger Mittagskogel down to Faak am See. The lake is the ideal place to cool off and relax after this scenically breathtaking tour. From Faak am See you will take the train back to Villach.
