Hiking Tour in Acadia National Park Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive in Acadia National Park
Meet the group early at the Bangor airport. You’ll have breakfast and then make the hour drive to Acadia National Park.
You’ll start your hike along a carriage road to Witch Hole Pond. In the afternoon you’ll be hiking the Sieur de Monts Springs area where you’ll discover mountain springs, plank bridges, and beautiful views. After the hike, you’ll check-in at the hotel in Bar Harbor.

Day 2 Hike up Dorr Mountain
Start your day with a stroll through the harbor and a short walk along the Bar Harbor shore path. Then you’ll head back to the park and start your strenuous hike up Dorr Mountain. The scenery will be spectacular from the top, as well as on your descent as you walk through the gorge between Dorr and Cadillac.

Day 3 Cadillac Mountain Hike
Your hike today will be up Cadillac Mountain. As you climb, the odds are good that you’ll see wildlife, especially the birds of prey that frequent Eagles Crag.
On the way back you’ll take a lunch break at Featherbed pond before returning to Bar Harbor.

Day 4 Sea Kayaking Adventure
This may be a hiking tour of the mountains, but no trip to New England is complete without getting out on the water! Today you’ll go on a sea kayaking excursion. There is no experience required as you’ll receive instruction and will be kayaking on the protected western side of Acadia.
The areas of Blue Hill Bay or Western Bay are less busy and offer a great chance to paddle in a remote area that is away from the open ocean. In the afternoon you can explore charming Bar Harbor, relax at the hotel, or wander a trail on your own.

Day 5 Penobscot Mountain Hiking
Your hike today will begin from Jordon Pond House where you’ll pick up the trail to climb Penobscot Mountain. The climb is steep and offers beautiful views of the Cranberry Isles, a smattering of islands in the deep blue sea.
Reward yourself with a snack at Jordon Pond House on your way back into town.

Day 6 Climb the Beehive and Gorham Mountain
Your last day already! Take the trail from Sand Beach and start the challenging hike up the Beehive. The track gets so steep that certain points have iron rungs to help your ascent. The views from the top are fantastic, especially in the fall when the trees are deep red and golden.
After this thrilling climb, you’ll walk over Gorham Mountain, and then loop back to Sand Beach. You’ll have time for a final lunch by the sea before returning to Bangor.
