Day 1 Lake Bohinj
Your tour begins in Lake Bohinj, a gorgeous spot tucked into the end of a valley. The lake here is nearly as beautiful as Lake Bled but far less busy, so enjoy the views and the peaceful atmosphere while you settle in tonight.

Day 2 Setting Out in the Julian Alps
Your first day of hiking is here! Start with a transfer to the trailhead, where you’ll begin following a well-marked path through a cute alpine farm. Consider stopping in for some fresh cheese or milk before heading up a mountain that doesn’t see too many hikers. This quiet trail gives you unspoiled, private views over the Julian Alps. You’ll be able to see your mountain hut across a meadow, and you’ll be heading down another quiet trail to reach it.

Distance: 6-7 hours, 12km, 1100m elevation gain

Day 3 The Heartland of Triglav National Park
Fuel up with breakfast, then hit the trail outside of your hut. Begin by crossing high alpine meadows carpeted by flowers, some of Slovenia’s highest mountains coming into view. If you’re keen for a challenge, you can opt to climb Mt. Kanjavec, one of the highest peaks in the heart of the Julian Alps. If you’re really brave, you can actually climb Mt. Triglav today, bagging Slovenia’s highest peak! The upper part of the hike involves a via ferrata course, and we can help you arrange a guide if you’d like.
Whether you take on today’s big climb or not, you’ll be so satisfied once you kick back in your mountain hut.

Day 4 The Valley of 7 Triglav Lakes
This morning, begin a trek south along the Valley of the 7 Triglav Lakes. You can either walk along an easier trail through the valley or challenge yourself a bit more on a ridge high above the lakes.
This afternoon, hike through the lower ground as you cross through alpine meadows on the way to your mountain hut.

Day 5 Arrival in Lake Bohinj
You’ve come full circle! Today will be largely downhill through the forest. Views of Lake Bohinj start to peek through the trees as you descend, and you’ll reach the shores with enough time to revel in the gorgeous lake once more. Take a celebratory swim and find a nice restaurant to toast your hiking journey!
