Day 1 Arrival in Krimml
Welcome to Oberpinzgau! The crisp mountain air of Krimml, situated over 1,000 meters above sea level, sets the perfect tone for the start of your hiking holiday.

Day 2 Circular Walk in Krimml – From the Waterfalls to the Krimmler Tauernhaus
Today’s hike takes approximately 6 hours, covering 23 km with an elevation gain of 340 m and descent of 360 m. Begin by visiting the Krimml Waterfalls, a stunning natural spectacle with three majestic tiers. At the top, you’ll enter the peaceful Krimmler Achental valley, known for its alpine flora and high meadows. Your route leads to the historic Krimmler Tauernhaus, and a national park taxi will return you to the valley.

Day 3 Krimml to Neukirchen – Charming Pinzgauer Mountain Farms
Today’s trek is approximately 6 hours, covering 17 km with an ascent of 900 m and descent of 1,100 m. Follow the Panorama Trail through alpine meadows, past cows and horses, and climb to the Gerlosplatte. Descend through forests to Falkenstein, then along the Sonnenweg, crossing the Trattenbach Gorge. Arrive at Rechtegg for stunning views of Großvenediger.

Day 4 Circular Walk in Neukirchen – On the Glacier Trail
This day’s hike is approximately 5.5 hours, covering 18 km with 300 m of ascent and 1,150 m of descent. A national park taxi takes you to the valley’s end, where you’ll hike into the park’s core, exploring glacial formations and alpine landscapes. After visiting Berndlalm for a traditional Pinzgauer Brettljause, visit the Gamseck Waterfall before descending to Blausee and returning to Neukirchen.

Day 5 Neukirchen to Hollersbach – Panorama High Trail
Today’s trek takes 6 hours over 18 km, with 700 m of ascent and descent. Begin with a cable car ride to Wildkogel, followed by a panoramic hike at 2,000 meters, with spectacular views of the Wilder Kaiser and Kitzbüheler Horn. After a break at a mountain hut and a stop at the National Park Panorama, descend by gondola back to the valley.

Day 6 Hollersbach to Kaprun – The Hollersbach Valley Brook Trail
Today’s hike covers 13 km over 4.5 hours, with 500 m of ascent and descent. Follow a scenic trail along a mountain stream with striking blue waters and vibrant yellow rocks. Arrive at the Senninger Alm for a peaceful break before descending along alpine roads and catching a bus to Kaprun. End the day with relaxation at the Tauern Spa.

Day 7 Circular Walk in Kaprun – Ridge Trail to the Glacier and Ice Arena 3000
This day’s hike covers 11 km over 5.5 hours, with 950 m of ascent and 300 m of descent. Begin with a cable car ride to the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier, or hike along the Enzinger Trail from Maiskogel. Enjoy panoramic views along the ridge and descend by Glacier Jet.

The easiest way to reach Krimml is by car, with well-maintained roads connecting it to major cities like Salzburg (2 hours) and Innsbruck (2.5 hours). Follow the A12 motorway to the Zillertal exit, then continue on the Gerlos Alpine Road (B165). The nearest airports are Salzburg (W. A. Mozart Airport) and Innsbruck Airport. From either, you can drive or take public transport to Krimml.
