Innsbruck to Venice Bike Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival in Innsbruck
After arriving in Innsbruck, you will meet up for a welcome briefing and bike fitting. For the rest of the day, we recommend visiting Innsbruck’s famous old town with its city tower and its “Golden Roof”.

Day 2 Transfer to Brenner Pass and Cycle to Brixen/Bressanone
After breakfast, we will take you up to the Brenner Pass (by train or minibus). From the small border town Brenner, you will cycle on a newly extended bike path, mostly along the river Eisack. It takes you to the little village Gossensass at first and immediately afterwards to Sterzing, the once mighty city of the Fugger.
After, you will continue your tour to Thumberg, to the beautiful Reifenstein Castle, and via Stilfes and Mittenwald to Franzensfeste where there is a famous fortress. The bike path continues to the beautiful and quiet Lake Varna, to Varna itself, and finally to Brixen – today’s final destination.

Day 3 Explore the Bolzano Basin
On day 3 of the tour, you will ride your bike through the Dürer town Klausen along the river Eisack to Waidbruck for views of Castle Trostburg. Here, the valley gets narrower and leads into the Bolzano basin. Bolzano – the city where two cultures meet – is awaiting its visitors with many attractions, such as the Archaeological Museum that is home to Ötzi, the Iceman. Free admission to the museum is available with BrixenCard on the day of arrival.

Day 4 Bike to Trento
Today you will cycle along the River Adige and partly through some beautiful orchards to reach Salurn, where the German speaking South Tyrol ends. From here, you will continue to Trento with its historic old town.

Day 5 Explore the Adige River Valley
On this stage of the tour the Adige valley keeps on getting narrower and narrower. The mountain ranges and impressive castles that once guarded one of the most important trade routes will be coming closer and closer too. A visit to Rovereto and the city of Mozart, Ala, are recommended activities in the region. You will then continue your tour on the bike path to Rivalta.

Day 6 Continue on to Verona
On the sixth day of the tour, you will cycle on the well-developed bike trail along the river Adige to Verona, only making a few stops along the way. Take your time exploring the city with its many Roman ruins.

Day 7 Explore the Monti Berici Hills
Today’s route is initially flat until you cycle through the Monti Berici hills to the area of Vicenza, which provides you with a beautiful view overlooking the city. To make this long stage a bit shorter, you can also travel the first part by train to San Bonifacio, or the old town of Vicenza. You can feel Palladio’s spirit here, the famous architect from the Middle Ages.

Day 8 Stay in the Spa Town of Abano Terme
As you leave Vicenza you will see numerous Venetian villas, such as the Villa Rotonda. Following the route along the river Bacchiglione, you will eventually arrive in Abano Terme, one of the most famous Italian spa towns. From Abano Terme, you can easily travel by bus to Padua, the city of St Anthony and the scholars, if you wish. There you will have enough time to enjoy the thermal baths.

Day 9 Cycle to the Lagoon City of Venice
With a light wind behind you most of the time, it’s an easy ride towards the sea through a landscape filled with serene meadows and fields. This stage will first take you to the mainland, before reaching Venice with its excellent bus service into the city of lagoons. Take your time exploring one of the most romantic cities in the world.
