Israel Sea to Sea Hiking Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive in Nahariya
Welcome to the beautiful city of Nahariya! Located on the Mediterranean coast, Nahariya is the northernmost coastal city in Israel and boasts a myriad of lively shops and restaurants for you to explore.
A brief meeting will take place on the afternoon of Day 1 where you’ll be provided with your route maps and will have the opportunity to ask any questions you have. Get a good night’s rest for your highly anticipated first day of hiking tomorrow!

Day 2 Hike along the Kviz stream
Your sea to sea adventure begins today with a few different options for you to choose from.
Option 1: Classic route
A short ten-minute transfer will take you from your accommodation to the trailhead where your total hike for the day will be around 16 km.
Option 2: Shortened route
This option allows you to shorten your total distance to 12 km, taking a slightly longer transfer and instead beginning your hike near Monfort (please note that this option incurs an additional cost).
Option 3: Sea to Sea route
For those interested in literally walking “sea to sea”, you’ll begin your journey at Nahariya Beach and walk along flat mostly dirt roads an additional 12 km to the trailhead.
Regardless of which option you choose for this day, you will encounter the natural beauty of this region as you hike parallel to the Kviz stream, ending your hike in the charming Arab village of Fassuta.
Overnight Location: Cabin in Fassuta
Distance: Option 1: 16 km, 5-8 hours, 600m ascent
Option 2: 12 km, 4-6 hours, 500m ascent
Option 3: 28 km, 8-10 hours, 600m ascent

Day 3 Hiking Wadi Habis
Today’s hike begins on the doorstep of your accommodation! Crossing ravines and hiking rolling hills. the first half of your day will be spent making your way to the upper Kviz stream. Walking a section of the stream called Wadi Habis, a pleasant trail will lead you to the beautiful Ein Hotam spring, a perfect place to kick back and take in your surroundings.
From here, a short walk will take you into the Druze (religious minority in Israel) village of Hurfeish where you’ll have ample opportunity to explore the unique culture and cuisine of this area.

Distance: 14 km, 5-7 hours, 350m ascent

Day 4 Mount Meron and Amud Stream
Today will be the most challenging day of hiking but also one of the most rewarding! There are three options for today’s hike, and all will have you reaching the summit.
Option 1: 22 km hike
Hiking directly from your accommodation in Hurfeish, you’ll ascend Mount Meron.
Option 2: 16 km hike
Take a short transfer (at no extra cost) to a closer start point for your ascent.
Option 3: 12 km hike
Take a longer transfer (with additional cost) to an even closer start point for your ascent.
All options will have you ascending 800 m to the summit of Mount Meron where you’ll be greeted with breathtaking views in all directions. From the summit, you’ll descend into Nahal Amud, known as the prettiest stream in the region of Galilee.
A short climb will then bring you to tonight’s stay—the beautiful charming old quarter of the city of Safed, where the architecture is sure to take your breath away.

Distance: Option 1: 22 km, 5-6 hours, 600m of ascent
Option 2: 16 km, 4-5 hours, 200m of ascent
Option 3: 12 km, 3-4 hours

Day 5 The Sea of Galilee
Today there are two options for your final day of hiking.
Option 1: 20 km hike
Your hike this morning begins directly from your accommodation, descending back to the Amud stream at a more eastern location than where you left off yesterday. Hiking through varying climates and a variety of vegetation, you’ll pass a number of impressive geological formations.
Finally, you’ll reach the shores of the Sea of Galilee, and will have completed the classic “sea to sea” route of Northern Israel!
Option 2: 11 km hike
This option allows you to start today’s hike at the halfway point taking a transfer (at an additional cost) 9 km further along the trail to the modified start point.

This tour is based mostly in 3-star hotels, but includes one stay in a rustic wooden cabin, and one stay in a B&B.
All accommodations offer private rooms. The hotels are equipped with modern amenities to make your stay comfortable and pleasant, and the wooden cabin offers basic amenities. The properties have been carefully selected and reflect the local charm of each area you are visiting. Rooms are double occupancy, and single travelers will pay a supplement.
In some cases, accommodation listed below may need to be substituted for other, comparable accommodations.

Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) is the closest airport to your start point in Nahariya. The best way to get from Ben Gurion Airport is by train from Ben Gurion Airport Station to Nahariya, which takes just under 3 hours, or just over 4 hours by bus. Alternatively, you can arrange your own transportation from the airport or book airport transfers as part of your tour for an additional fee.
The tour ends in the city of Safed, where you can take a combination of buses and trains from Safed Central Station to Ben Gurion Airport Station. It takes approximately 4 hours to reach Ben Gurion Airport (TLV).
