Kefalonia Cycling Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive on Kefalonia
Upon arriving in Argostoli, you will transfer (not included) to Fiscardo (approximately 1 hour). Check into your hotel situated in Fiscardo’s charming harbor, which stands out as the sole village in Kefalonia with numerous well-preserved Venetian buildings. Depending on your arrival, bike delivery will take place today or tomorrow morning.

Day 2 Bike from Fiscardo to Sami
The first day of biking on the tour will begin early with a lengthy and uphill journey to Enossi. Upon reaching a crossroads, you can opt for the challenging uphill route offering a rewarding descent through Plagia, Vary, and Karva, which boast scenic views with minimal traffic. The descent from Komitata is particularly splendid, providing a panoramic and extended reward after a 600m climb. Turn left in Dedrinata to reach the charming port of Agia Effimia, dotted with numerous small restaurants—a essential stop after the initial part of the day. Continue along the sea to reach your hotel in Sami.

Day 3 Explore Sami
Take some time today to explore the charming Antisamos bay for a day of seaside pleasure. If you want to take a break from biking you can also explore nearby attractions like Melissani Lake and Drogarati Cave in Sami. From Sami’s port, catch a short ferry to Ithaca, Ulysses’ island, for a day trip or an overnight stay.

Day 4 Sami to Skala
Day 4 of the tour will be another beautiful day, although there will be a rather long climb to the Digaleto pass situated at 503 meters. After a nice descent to Poros, you will finish on a hilly route along the sea to reach the charming British resort of Skala, and its lengthy beach.

Day 5 Bike from Skala to Argostoli
Today’s adventure will be filled with a variety of terrain, alternating uphill and downhill to pass the charming Kato Katelios port (1km detour), before ascending to Atsoupades at the base of Mount Enos, the island’s prominent 1628m peak. The return to Argostoli follows an easily navigable, though busier, road.

Day 6 Argostoli to Agia Effimia
Day 6 of the tour will see you embark on a new leg of your journey, leaving the west coast behind and crossing Argostoli Bay via the Drapanos bridge, a relic of “English protection” marked by an obelisk.
After, you will ascend through a panoramic route to a village overlooking the renowned Myrtos Beach. While a descent to Myrtos Beach is an option, buses are available for the steep ascent. Proceed to Agia Effimia, where an overnight stay near the beach awaits.

Day 7 Return to Fiscardo
The last day of biking on the tour will begin with a scenic climb, followed by a prolonged descent to the island’s finest village, Fiscardo. This quaint place was once acclaimed by Henry Miller as one of Earth’s most charming and intriguing places – a fitting place to wrap up your adventure on Kefalonia.
