Tour Masurian Lakeland Self-Guided Bike Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Welcome to Masuria
Individual arrival to Giżycko area by bus/ train/ your own car. A representative will meet you late in the afternoon to prepare you for the tour.

Day 2 Biking the Nature and Culture to Wegorzewo
Today you cycle through the Masurian Lake District. From the large bridge connecting lakes Mamry and Dargin you have a marvelous view over the lake district. You will reach Sztynort and have a look at the ruins of the manor house of the East-Prussian family of Lehndorff built in 1680. The old park was landscaped then, the oak alley planted and the cloister built of Ionic columns. You cycle through an old oak alley. Then, it was a custom to plant an oak tree for each child of the Lehndorff family. Today, all this is regarded as a monument of culture. At the end of today’s journey, you reach Węgorzewo, where a nice hotel awaits you.

Day 3 Biking the Rattling Storks to Ketrzyn
After breakfast you start your cycling tour to Kętrzyn. On your way you will pass many picturesque villages where the silence is interrupted only by the stork rattling. On your way, in Gierłoż, you can tour the famous “Wolf’s lair” – Adolf Hitler’s headquarters during World War II (optional).

Day 4 Cycling to Reszel and the Organ Concert
After breakfast, you start your cycling tour to Reszel. You cycle through the beautifully situated village Ryn, where you can visit the restored Teutonic castle. On the way, pass Święta Lipka, where you can visit the baroque church from the 17th century and enjoy a short organ concert in the church (optional).
In the evening you reach Reszel, where you can feel like travelling back in time to the Middle Ages.

Day 5 Biking Through the Masurian Lake District
Today’s tour leads through the Masurian Landscape Park, a beautiful, well-known forest area in Poland. There are 850 different plants and 150 different birds to be found there (e.g., eagles, black storks, owls, herons). Pay attention to see if you can spot a lynx, beaver, or a deer crossing your path!

Day 6 Krutynia Paddling Tour
Today you can go paddling on the Krutynia river. No additional skills are required to paddle on this 90 cm-deep river. In the afternoon you have time for your leisure. At the end of the day, enjoy a farewell bonfire and dinner.

Day 7 Cruise on the Masurian Lakes to Giżycko and Departure
To avoid the crowded roads today you take a beautiful cruise on the Masurian lakes. The cruise is a beautiful experience, which is highly suitable for exploring the district. It will start in Mikołajki, a picturesque port called “the Masurian Venice” by its inhabitants, and ends in Gizycko. You’ll end the tour here and depart at your leisure.
