Day 1 Arrive in Mahón
The beautiful capital city of Mahón is the ideal base for exploring the island of Menorca. Once dominated by the English and later the French, the island is an atmospheric blend of old and new, boasting remarkable diversity in architecture and style.
Settle into your accommodations before setting out on a mini-adventure to acquaint yourself with the lively city! If you’re looking for an excellent place to start, check out the Mercado del Claustro del Cármen, a bustling market where you’ll find a plethora of Menorcan specialties.
While out and about, make it your goal to enjoy some tapas incorporating the amazing Queso de Mahón, an artisan cheese produced locally and described by many as “to die for.”

Day 2 Visit Es Grau and Begin the Camí dels Cavalls
This morning, a short transfer to the idyllic fishing village of Es Grau will lead you to the trail where you’ll pick up the Camí dels Cavalls on the outskirts of the S’Albufera Natural Park.
Navigating marshlands and dunes, you’ll find yourself tracing a spectacularly sizeable freshwater lake.
Continuing the trail, you’ll pass the beautiful lighthouse of Cape Favatrix and continue walking through saltwater marshes to the holiday town of Port d’Addaia.
Enjoy a well-earned beverage and tapas in the lively beach town before taking a short transfer to tonight’s accommodations in Menorca’s northernmost fishing village, Fornells.

Day 3 Walk from Cap de Cavalleria to Cala S’Alocs Via the Camí dels Cavalls
Today begins with a taxi transfer to Cap de Cavalleria, where you’ll pick up the Camí dels Cavalls.
A craggy coastline characterizes the route as you navigate the island’s most mountainous area. A mix of rugged cliffs and low-lying marshlands unfold with the path as you make your way through Mediterranean woodlands. The birdlife in the woods is abundant, so keep your eyes on the skies.
For a quick refresh and refuel, stop at one of the beach cafes along the route before reaching Cala S’Alocs. From Cala S’Alocs, a transfer will take you to tonight’s accommodations.

Day 4 Walk Picturesque Farmland from Platja Cala Pilar
Today’s walk has you setting out from Platja Cala Pilar on a short trail through vast open farmland. Enjoy a leisurely stroll on mostly flat terrain as you pass farmsteads dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries, which today produce the famous queso de Mahón.
Enjoy a free afternoon to relax at your accommodations or explore the surrounding area.

Distance: 4 hours, 14km, 200m of ascent, 200m of descent

Day 5 Walk from Cala Morell to Cales Piques
Setting out from Cala Morell, you’ll enter a fascinating area home to various dwellings from the Talaiotic period called “barracas” (prehistoric pyramidal structures).
Rosemary, rockrose, and chamomile plants line your path as you make your way towards a limestone plateau. The path ends in Cales Piques, where you can either catch a bus or continue on foot to Ciutadella.

Day 6 Coastal Walk from Xoriguer to Cala Galdana
Today begins with a short transfer to Son Xoriguer where you’ll pick up the trail along the coast.
Making your way across mostly flat terrain, you’ll walk through woodlands of evergreen oaks, firs, and centuries-old olive trees. Gorgeous coves such as the Platges de Son Saura mark your way, offering remarkable vistas along the coast.
Further on, the trail becomes more exciting and rugged as you navigate plunging ravines on your way to the seaside village of Cala Galdana.

Distance: 4.5 hours, 14km, 250m of ascent, 250m of descent

Day 7 Circuit from Cala Galdana
Your last day of walking in Menorca takes you through dense holm oak forests, where you’ll spot the fascinating remains of ancient chalk ovens.
Continuing to the Migjorn Plateau, keep your eyes peeled for Hermann’s tortoise, a unique Mediterranean species often found in the area.
Your arrival at Platja de Binigaus marks your departure from the Camí dels Cavalls. From here, you’ll follow the coastal path of El Litoral back to Cala Mitjani. A private transfer will then take you to your accommodations in Mahón, where you’ll have come full circle.
