Pyrenees National Park Multisport Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Welcome to the Pyrenees National Park!
Let the adventure begin! In the morning, you’ll meet with a local representative for a transfer to Gavarnie. Once there, you’ll dive into your tour briefing and get prepared for the days of adventure ahead.
After lunch, you are off for a sporty afternoon alongside your mountain guide in the heart of the Pyrenees National Park! On the programme: firns, waterfalls, marmots and GR10. After a good three hours of hiking, you finally reach the Bayssellance Refuge where you’ll spend the night amongst the wildnerness.
Before dinner, take some time to explore the area around the refuge in search of a marmot or a chariot!
Overnight Location: Bayssellance refuge
Distance: 3.5-4hours of walking, 5km, 900m elevation gain
Meals: Lunch and dinner
Day 2 Ascent to The Vignemale and Thermal Baths
This morning it’s off to climb the highest peak in the French Pyrenees, the Grand Vignemale, at an altitude of more than 3208m! A few steps from the refuge, you are already walking on the gigantic Ossoue Glacier, an opportunity for the guide to tell you about its size, its changes over the seasons and years, the caves dug into the massif.
After crossing the glacier, seeing the Pic du Midi de Bigorre observatory, admiring the Earl Russell caves, and walking along the ridge that leads to the summit, you finally reach the Pique Longue, also known as the Grand Vignemale. You will be amazed by a breathtaking 360° view. The return is done quietly on the side of the Pont d’Espagne, passing by the refuge of the Oulettes de Gaube where you will stop to spend the night.
Overnight Location: Oulettes de Gaube Refuge
Distance: 6 hours of walking, 20km, 900m of ascent, 1500m of descent
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
Day 3 Return to Cauterêts
The return is done quietly on the side of the Pont d’Espagne, passing by the Oulettes de Gaube refuge and the famous Lac de Gaube.
At the end of the day, after a transfer to Cauterets, you can settle into your comfortable hotel room before enjoying the many indoor and outdoor pools of the Bains du Rocher wellness centre.
Overnight Location: Hotel in Cauterets
Distance: 10 hours of walking, 20km, 900m of ascent, 2500m of descent
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
Day 4 Morning E-MTB and Afternoon Rafting or Fishing
After your second night in the mountains, it’s a new colorful day that awaits you! Departing from your hotel, with a helmet on your head, you’ll hop on your E-MTB and follow the guide to Lourdes for a 40km journey between forest, plateau and banks.
Option 1: Once you arrive at the banks of the Gave, you jump into the water, literally! You swap the two-wheeler for the neoprene wetsuit and the canoraft and try to tame the torrential river that is the Gave de Pau. Tackle waves, rapids and waterfalls!
Option 2: Once you arrive at the banks of the Gave, you don’t jump into the water, you just throw the line! With your fishing instructor and as close as possible to nature, learn how to handle the line correctly, refine the gesture and perhaps make the dream of a fisherman’s life come true: to catch a trophy fish!
Overnight Location: Hotel in Lourdes or Nay
Distance: 40km e-MTB
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
Day 5 Choice of Adventures
Today, you’re off to Landes with a choice of activities!
Option 1: In the morning a driver will take you to Seignosse and your new base camp for your stay, the Natureo Camp. After settling into your new bungalow, it will be time to head to Lake Hossegor for a stand-up paddle session. Standing on the board, sail through the calm waters of the site and enjoy the scenery.
Option 2: After a lie-in, you head back to the Gave for a new water activity: rafting. Thrill seekers are sure to enjoy this new activity that will take you from Lourdes to Nay in just a few strokes of the paddle.
When you return or arrive at the campsite, a yoga session is offered to relax a little more and take full advantage of the benefits of the sea air.
Overnight Location: Natureo Camp
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
Day 6 E-MTB on the Beach and Surf
A new day means a new activity, and what better way to explore the Landes trails than by bike? But not just any bike, the E-MTB! Because in the Landes, it’s better to have big wheels and a good battery (and also good calves) to pedal on the sand. Get in the saddle and ride a few kilometers on these immense sandy beaches and in a few pedal strokes.
After lunch, swap the mountain bike for the board for one last activity: surfing. With a wetsuit on and a board under your arm, your instructors will accompany you in the water to make you (re)discover this discipline and pass on their passion for surfing, the ocean and outdoor sports. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned rider, progress safely, tame the waves, ride the rollers or wade in the Atlantic. But above all, enjoy yourself! Because this outing will mark the end of this incredible sporting stay.
Overnight Location: Natureo Camp
Distance: Flexible
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
