Zillertal in Austria offers amazing climbing located in a beautiful Alpine valley full of fast-flowing streams, lots of lush greenery, and flowers. There are granite blocks of all shapes and sizes scattered all around the valley, making Zillertal a great bouldering destination. Bigger rocks offer excellent, well-bolted sport routes. It is a true granite paradise with technical slabs, cracks, and even some overhangs. There are eighteen bouldering areas in Zillertal, around fifteen sport climbing crags with single-pitch routes between 10 and 30 meters in length. Some of them are long, clean cracks of great quality. Apart from sport climbing and bouldering, Zillertal offers excellent multi-pitch options.

Rock Climbing Highlights in Austria Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival
Welcome! Make your own way from the airport, and gather for dinner together and get to know each other, including your ability level and goals for the week to come.
Day 2 Warm-up
Get an introduction to the local crags and try some warm-up routes. It is also important to review good safety practices and procedures when belaying, top-roping, and leading.
Day 3-6 Climbing
Climbing, climbing, and more climbing! Work on new skills with your coach and gain confidence in your climbing technique. Depending on your abilities and goals, you may work on top-roping, lead climbing, advanced belaying, controlling falls dynamically, redpointing, flash, or onsight methods. The important thing is that everyone is having fun and making progress toward their goals.
Day 7 Pre-departure Day
Wrap up a great week by finishing the projects you have worked on. Lock in new skills with extra practice and coaching. End the week on a fun note with a farewell dinner and party!
Day 8 Goodbye!
Time to say goodbye! Make your own way to the airport to depart.

Upon arrival, we will take you to the store to shop for breakfast and lunch food for the week. Refrigerators are provided by the campsite, and we will return to the store once more during the week to replenish supplies. Communal Spanish-inspired dinners prepared by a professional chef are offered every night for €15. They include an entree, salad, dessert, and wine. Dietary restrictions and allergies can be accommodated with advanced notice. We may also decide to plan a night out at a restaurant in one of the many nearby towns.

This tour starts and ends at the climbing accommodations in Zillertal.There are a few airports you can fly to (Salzburg, Innsbruck or Munich), none of which is more than 1,5-hour’s drive from Zillertal.
We provide all the gear, but you will need to bring your own reasonably tight climbing shoes and harness. We have belay devices, slings, and helmets, but you might prefer to bring your own. We strongly suggest bringing a down jacket, a hat, a rain jacket, a pair of comfortable approach shoes, a headlamp, a sleeping bag, and a backpack big enough for carrying lunch and gear to the crag.

This tour is a part of 'Climbing Trip Europe' tour, that takes place around 8 different locations all around Europe for 8 weeks. To match the logistics of the trip, this workshop in Zillertal includes airport pick-up from Munich International Airport and drop-off at Innsbruck Airport. You can still join this trip if you choose to arrive or depart at a different airport, but you would have to organize the transfer to and from Zillertal yourself.
