The Scottish Highlands Sea Kayaking Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Introduction to Sea Kayaking
Meet your guide in Inverness and travel to the northwest to the village of Torridon. After a tour briefing and lunch at a local cafe, head to the water for a short tour and an introductory kayaking skills session to prepare for the days ahead. Later in the afternoon, check in to your room at a local inn, settle in, then have dinner together as a group.

Day 2 Kayak around Loch Shieldaig
Begin the day by practicing the kayaking skills you learned the day before, then building on these skills to make sure you are well prepared for the various journeys to come. With one guide for every four participants, rest assured that you will get plenty of individual coaching. When everyone in the group is ready, take a gentle tour around Loch Shieldaig. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and watch for wildlife during your paddling journey.

Day 3 Kayak around Loch Kishorn
Transfer a short distance to the south to the lovely inlet of Loch Kishorn. Test your new skills with a classic sea kayaking journey along the coast. Pass a number of remote bays and explore some wild and unsettled islands. Watch for the chance to spot some rare wildlife that call this area home, including otters, sea eagles, and with some luck even some porpoises or dolphins. Return to the inn to debrief the day and make plans for future kayaking adventures.

Day 4 Guided Hike or Free Activity in Gairloch
On this rest day, allow your body to rest and recover from kayaking. Instead, spend this time exploring more of the northwestern highlands. Transfer from Torridon to Gairloch village, where you can choose to take a light hike with your guide or simply explore the village on your own. There are wonderful beaches here, and many visitors enjoy whale or dolphin watching boat tours (not included). Another option is to remain at the hotel to relax and enjoy the village of Torridon.

Day 5 Kayak around the Applecross Peninsula
Return to the water today, refreshed after the rest day and ready to explore the incredible coastline around the Applecross peninsula. This is sure to be a memorable day as you discover a multitude of impressive coastal features. Return to land for a waterside drink at the Applecross Inn, which is a classic way to end the day exploring this peninsula. Then return to the inn and freshen up for a special meal to celebrate the last night of the tour.

Day 6 Hike to Loch Maree Overlook, Travel back to Inverness, Departure Day
End your incredible Scottish Highlands Sea Kayaking tour with a leisurely breakfast then a short, easy hike to a beautiful overlook. Enjoy incredible views of Loch Maree and the surrounding area as a way to reflect on your tour and say farewell to this spectacular region. Then travel back to Inverness, where you should arrive by late afternoon. Please plan your return travel accordingly.
