Day 1 Arrive in La Valle
Begin your introduction to the stunning area of Val Badia in La Valle (Wengen in German)—a quaint village tucked in the mountains. Spend the day meandering the town before enjoying a relaxing night at your hotel.

Day 2 Panoramic Passo Valparola to Corvara Hike
After munching on a delicious breakfast, get ready for your first day of trekking in Val Badia. Take a brief transfer to Passo Valparola, where your 14.9 km trek, exploding with spectacular views as you walk along the Sett Sass until the landscape unfolds into Pralongià, a vast meadow, begins. Admire the jetting summits dotting the background, including the unmatched views of the Marmolada glacier as you trek. Spend a pleasant evening basking in the quiet, tranquil La Valle.

Day 3 Trek to Rifugio Fanes
Pack a daypack because you’re going to leave La Valle for an epic hiking adventure to Rifugio Fanes. Spending a night in a rifugio is simply splendid, as you get sunset and sunrise in the mountains almost entirely to yourself. The trail slowly ascends as you pass by Sasso delle Nove’s rock faces and vistas of Austrian mountain tops. Be prepared for a steep incline during the last section of this hike. Eventually, you’ll reach astonishing views of the valley sprawling below and of Fanes-Sennes-Braies Natural Park. Once you reach Rifugio Fanes, opt to go on a worthwhile 1 km jaunt to Lé Vërt lake and Limo lake.

Distance: 6 hours, 13.8 km, 1278 m ascent, 563 m descent

Day 4 Hike back to La Valle
Say goodbye to your cozy Rifugio Fanes and embark on a semi-steep journey back to La Valle. Today’s trek will take you through larch forest until the scenery collapses, bringing Lech Parom, a glistening lake surrounded by lofty mountains, into focus. You can also opt to take a route that requires less of a climb, but still traverses gorgeous views of mountain peaks and valleys. The last part of the hike will take you across the green, lush pastures blanketing Armentara. Spend your last night on this tour at your leisure in La Valle.

You can fly to Venice or another nearby airport and take a train to Brunico, followed by a local bus to Pederoa, and then another super short bus to La Valle. You can drive a car to La Valle.

Self-guided travelling is not difficult! For many, it is a preferred type of travel as you are in charge of your own time and pace. You are provided all the information on which direction you need to go daily. You don’t need to carry lots of things with you and can only carry your daypack, as your luggage will be picked up from your hotel daily in the morning and delivered to your destination hotel.
