Day 1 Arrival in Neustadt an der Weinstraße
After arriving in Neustadt an der Weinstraße, your holiday starts with a tour information meeting and bike fitting. Afterwards, you can spend time exploring the secret German Wine capital, with its contorted alleys, impressive abbey church, and the famous fountain “Elwedritschenbrunnen”.

Day 2 Cycle the Rhine Plain to Heidelberg
On your first day of cycling, you will leave the wine growing region and cycle on pleasant paths through the Rhine plain until you reach the cathedral city of Speyer with its medieval inner-city. The famous palace and palace-garden in Schwetzingen is a further highlight of the tour, before your day will end in the oldest German university town Heidelberg.

Day 3 Roman Town of Ladenburg and Worms
Today you will bike along the River Neckar to the old Roman town of Ladenburg with its beautiful medieval inner city. You will then continue your tour through the Rhine Valley to the imperial city of Worms with its cathedral built in the 12th century, the Martin Luther monument, and the oldest Jewish cemetery in Europe.

Day 4 Ferry to Nierstein and Wine Tasting
Day 4 of the tour will see you enjoy a ride along the River Rhine, partly on the idyllic paths at the ancient Rhine channels, to Oppenheim, “the city of Gothic style and wine”. During a short ferry ride across the Rhine, you will already enjoy the view of Nierstein and its countless vineyards. To match the incredible scenery, a wine tasting has been organized for you.

Day 5 Cycle to the Rhineland Capital of Mainz
Today you will cycle through vineyards to the second imperial cathedral along this tour, which is located in the city of Mainz, the capital of Rheinland-Pfalz. Here you will cross the river Rhine and visit the Gutenberg museum. In the romantic town of Rüdesheim, you can take the cable car to enjoy a splendid view over the vineyards, for an incredibly scenic experience.

Day 6 Cross the Rhine and Cycle to Alzey
After breakfast, you will cross over the River Rhine again to reach Bingen, where the River Nahe joins the Rhine and where four wine growing regions meet. It is recommended to visit the bridge Drususbrücke, which was built in the 10th century, as well as the bridge chapel (Brückenkapelle). Passing through the vineyards, you will cycle to the “Volker City” Alzey,and in the wine hotel a sommelier will explain the diversity of the region’s wine for you.

Day 7 Cycle to the Wine Producing Town of Grünstadt
Day 7 is a short stage that will allow you to spend plenty of time exploring and enjoying the wine culture in this area. You will eventually reach Bobenheim, the beginning of the German Wine Road, and your day will end in the small wine growers town of Grünstadt.

Day 8 Bike Through the Balcony of Pfalz
Wonderful wine growing villages will be the cultural highlight of today! In Bad Dürkheim, you will see the biggest wine barrel in the world and will have some time for another wine tasting. In Deidesheim, you will have the opportunity to visit the wine museum in the medieval town hall, before getting back on your bike to cycle through the region called “Balcony of the Pfalz” to return to Neustadt an der Weinstraße.
