The Tour du Mont Blanc is a stunning 11-day trek that takes you around Mont Blanc. For many people finding 11-days is a challenge, so this 4-day trek takes you on the western half of the route.
Starting in the Chamonix Valley, you follow the route over the Col du Bonhomme and the Col des Fours to reach the charming village of Les Chapieux. From there you climb over the Col de la Seigne and enter the Val d’Aosta and Italy via Val Veni, and you see the Italian side of Mont Blanc.

Day 1 Trek to Bionnassay
Today, you will meet the group and your guide in front of the Bellevue cable car at 9 am. The day begins with a climb through the forest, until you reach the summit of Prarion (1969m), from which you can enjoy a 360° panorama. Descent to the refuge for the night.
Overnight Location: Refuge near Bionnassay
Distance: 5h 30m, 800m (2,625 ft) ascent
Meals: Lunch (guided only), Dinner
Day 2 Over Col de Tricot to Les Contamines
Your second day of walking on the tour du Mont Blanc is a great one, so get ready to be amazed! By a beautiful route at the foot of the glaciers, pass the Col de Tricot (2120 m) and you cross the alpine pasture of Truc. Descend to the village of Les Contamines for the night.
Overnight Location: Gite in Les Contamines (shared rooms or dormitories)
Distance: 6hrs, 950m (3,115 ft) ascent
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch (guided only), Dinner
Day 3 Trek to Les Chapieux
Today you will walk along the path of the Roman road. You climb towards the Cols du Bonhomme (2408 m) and des Fours (2665 m), objectives of the morning. After a picnic facing a vast panorama, you will reach the Vallée des Chapieux, at the end of the Tarentaise, the place of production of Beaufort!
Overnight Location: Refuge in Les Chapieux
Distance: 7 hrs, 1,450 m (4,760 ft) ascent
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch (guided only), Dinner
Day 4 Walk into Italy and Courmayeur
Today is a magnificent day facing Mont Blanc! It begins with a climb to the Col de la Seigne (2514 m), border between France and Italy. You then enter Val d’Aosta via Val Véni. The Italian side of Mont Blanc is now visible! The descent to Courmayeur marks the end of the adventure.

Fly into Geneva International Airport (GVA), formerly known as Cointrin Airport. You can arrange a private transfer or take public transport to Chamonix. To get to Les Houches you can take a bus or taxi from Chamonix.
Yes, the tour guide is English-speaking. There will often be international as well as French guests on the tour, and the tour guides are multi-lingual. If you are travelling as a self-guided hiker, the information provided will be in English, however, you can also request for it to be in French.
The tour ends in Courmayeur, a great mountain village in Italy’s Aosta Valley. Nearby airports are Geneva (118km, 90 minutes), Turin (150km, 1h 40m, or Milan Malpensa (215km, 2h 20m)
