Day 1 Ourense
Ourense is renowned for its thermal baths, offering numerous health benefits. Moreover, it boasts a rich tapestry of art and cultural heritage, including the iconic cathedral, which is a must-see attraction. The city also delights visitors with its diverse culinary scene. Pilgrims arrive independently and are accommodated in Ourense.

Day 2 Ourense to San Cristovo de Cea
The difficulty level for this stage is considered medium. The journey commences from the Roman bridge of Ponte Vella in Ourense, spanning the Miño river and renowned as one of Spain’s best-preserved bridges. The route begins with a challenging ascent. Pilgrims have the option of two routes: the traditional path through Tamallancos or the alternative route via Canedo. Opting for the latter shortens the stage by 1 km but involves a greater amount of paved terrain. The day concludes in San Cristovo de Cea, globally recognized for its delectable homemade bread.

Day 3 San Cristovo de Cea to O Castro
The difficulty level for today’s stage is classified as high. You will walk along one of the greenest, most mountainous, and rural terrains, fully immersing yourself in the characteristic landscapes of Galicia. For the adventurous, there’s the option to extend the stage further by taking a detour to visit one of the highlights of the day: the Oseira Monastery. The vistas encountered during the climb to Oseira are unparalleled in their beauty. Continuing onward, you proceed towards O Castro, where you enter the region known for its renowned Galician stew.

Day 4 O Castro to Silleda
The difficulty level for this stage is categorized as easy. As you depart from O Castro, you’ll encounter fellow pilgrims who are transitioning from the Winter Way to continue towards Bandeira at the height of Lalín. The terrain becomes smoother with minimal elevation changes. Passing through Deza, a renowned agricultural region, you’ll cross the river of the same name. Just before reaching Silleda, you’ll journey through the picturesque forest of Trasfontao.

Day 5 Silleda to Ponte Ulla
The difficulty level for this stage is classified as easy. As you journey towards Ponte Ulla, you’ll encounter an asphalt descent that presents no significant challenges, thanks to the consistently good surface conditions along the route. The path alternates between roads and some sections of pathways, ensuring a smooth and comfortable trek overall. Upon crossing the Ulla River, you’ll enter the province of A Coruña, continuing towards the tranquil town where you’ll spend the final night before reaching Santiago.

Day 6 Ponte Ulla to Santiago de Compostela (20.9 km ~ 5 hours)
The difficulty level for this stage is categorized as easy. The route to our destination is just a few kilometers away. Entering the city via Ponte do Sar, you’ll proceed towards Plaza do Obradoiro, where the magnificent Santiago Cathedral awaits, offering a breathtaking sight to behold.
