Day 1 Kranjska Gora
Welcome to Kranjska Gora, a little ski town tucked underneath the Julian Alps. You’ve got the day free to enjoy the town, and there’s plenty to do: rent a bike, visit the nordic center, hike, see the waterfalls, or just grab a book and relax by Lake Jasna.

Day 2 Hike to Vrsic Pass
Your first hike begins right outside your hotel’s doorstep. Does it get more convenient than that? You’ll hike along a lovely trail that leads through an amphitheatre of limestone peaks. Continue towards Vrsic Pass, adding an optional hike up a nearby summit for unbeatable views of the Julian Alps if you’d like.
Complete your trek at a charming mountain hut, where authentic home-cooked Slovene mountain cuisine is being served up for dinner.

Day 3 Through the Heart of the Julian Alps
After breakfast, head out on an old military road built by Russian POWs in WWI. Climb a gentle grade to the top of the Vrsic Pass. Getting here early before the crowds is definitely worth it if you’re an early riser!
From the pass, hike through unspoiled alpine scenery towards the Trenta Valley. You’ll reach the underground spring that feeds the Soca River, which shines a stunning emerald once it reaches the surface. End your hike in a hidden mountain valley where your hotel awaits.

Day 4 Walking the Soca Valley
Spend today meandering along the Soca River, navigating narrow rocky gorges, pools, and canyons. You’ll walk along a few suspended bridges and come across areas that are perfect for a cool-down swim. It’s going to be obvious today why the Soca is considered one of the most beautiful rivers in the world.
Complete today’s walk in Bovec, a watersport mecca. You have the option to book an extra day here, giving you time to kayak, go canyoneering, zipline, hike, mountain bike, and more!

Day 5 Train and Walk to Lake Bohinj
Enjoy breakfast before transferring to Most na Soci, where you’ll hop on a train headed to Bohinjska Bistrica. This is where you’ll pick up the Juliana Trail, a 270km-long loop through the Julian Alps. The basic route for today is 9km, but you can add some distance by exploring lakes and mountain peaks wherever you want.
You’ll end the hike at Lake Bohinj, a spectacular destination with calm waters surrounded by green mountainsides. Enjoy a swim before getting comfortable for the night.

Distance: 3-5 hours, 9-16km, 150-550m elevation gain

Day 6 The Forests of Pokljuka Along the Juliana Trail
You’ll be enjoying the most beautiful sections of the Juliana Trail today and tomorrow, so make sure your camera’s ready to go. Begin walking along the Upper Bohinj Valley, heading towards the Pokljuka Plateau. Wide beech and spruce forests sprawl over the mountains below you, and your picnic lunch will have an excellent birds-eye view of Lake Bohinj.
After one of the best hiking days you’ve likely had, settle in at your hotel in Pokljuka.

Distance: 6-7 hours, 17km, 900m elevation gain

Day 7 Hiking to Lake Bled
Your last day of hiking begins through the forests surrounding Pokljuka, passing a gorgeous meadow filled with wildflowers. Descend through the narrow Pokljuka Gorge towards Lake Bled, your final destination. This magical lake needs very little introduction, but the sight of the church-clad island amid the crystalline waters framed by the mountains is sure to take your breath away! If you swim or row to the island, you can ring the bell and make a wish.

Day 8 Departure
If you can, spend some time today soaking up the beauty of Lake Bled, whether rowing, swimming, or grabbing an ice cream cone and relaxing on the shore. It’ll be time to head to the airport once you’re done.
