Amazonia Wildlife Adventure Itinerary
Day 1 Travel from Iquitos to Wilderness Lodge
To start your tour, you’ll be picked up from either the airport or your hotel. Enjoy the boat ride up the Amazon, and see if you can spot some of the first wildlife of the trip on the way to your lodge.
You’ll arrive in time for an evening excursion and leisurely dinner.
Overnight Location: Wilderness lodge in Paraiso

Day 2 Choice of Activities in the Amazon
For the next few days, you’ll be able to choose how you’ll explore the Tamshiyacu-Tahuayo Reserve. You’ll be escorted by your expert guides on all your activities so that you can make the most of your time in the Amazon.
Choose to hike into the forest behind the lodge and look for wildlife such as monkeys and marmosets, or hike into “frog valley” to search for poison dart frogs. There are opportunities to canoe on Lake Tapaje or take a boat to Lake Charo to find the famous pink dolphins.
Other possibilities are the Canopy Experience to familiarize yourself with the upper canopy, fishing for piranha, and visiting a native village to meet with a shaman.

Day 3 Choice of Activities in the Amazon
You’ll have today to continue to choose from all the incredible activities around the lodge.

Day 4 Choice of Activities in the Amazon
With so many activities to choose from, make sure you choose wisely as it’s your last custom activity day by the lodge!

Day 5 to 7 Travel by Boat to the Remote Research Center
Today you’ll leave the lodge by boat and travel 15 km upriver to the research center. This lodge is nestled in a pristine forest, undisturbed by man except for those staying at the center.
Here you’ll have incredible wildlife viewing opportunities as you hike through their trail system that consists of over 100 kilometres of walkable path. Check out the nearby lakes in search of caiman and endangered river otters, then participate in the centers’ Saki Monkey Project! Your photos may help identify if the local Saki monkeys are a new species or an existing species that have never been seen before in this area. You could be helping science more than you know.
In the evening, it’s time for dinner and rest.

Day 8 Return to Iquitos
Today you’ll spend a long day on the water, as you’ll be heading back to the main lodge to board your transfer boat to Iquitos. Enjoy the ride!
Back on dry land, your transfer will bring you to the airport in Iquitos or to your hotel.
